Description
Celbox-100 contains Celecoxib 100 mg, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) belonging to the selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor class. It helps relieve pain and inflammation by reducing the production of prostaglandins, which contribute to pain, swelling and inflammatory responses.
Healthcare professionals may prescribe celecoxib for selected painful inflammatory conditions, including certain forms of arthritis. The appropriate use depends on the diagnosis, medical history, cardiovascular risk and other medicines the patient takes.
Celbox-100 is supplied in Alu-Alu blister packaging. Use this medicine only as prescribed by a qualified healthcare professional.

Uses of Celbox-100
A healthcare professional may prescribe Celbox-100 for selected conditions, including:
- Osteoarthritis-related pain and inflammation.
- Rheumatoid arthritis-related symptoms.
- Certain other inflammatory or musculoskeletal conditions where celecoxib is appropriate.
- Pain associated with approved indications, as determined by the prescriber.
The approved indications may vary by country and product label. Celecoxib is not suitable for every type of pain, and persistent or unexplained pain requires appropriate medical assessment.
Key Benefits
- Helps relieve pain: Celecoxib reduces the production of inflammatory substances involved in pain signalling.
- Anti-inflammatory action: It may help reduce inflammation associated with selected musculoskeletal conditions.
- Selective COX-2 inhibition: Celecoxib primarily inhibits the COX-2 enzyme, which contributes to inflammation.
- Specified strength: Each capsule contains Celecoxib 100 mg, according to the supplied product details.
- Protective packaging: Alu-Alu blister packaging helps protect the capsules during storage when used as directed.
Individual results vary. Celecoxib can still cause serious gastrointestinal, cardiovascular and kidney-related adverse effects despite its selective mechanism.
How Celbox-100 Works
Celecoxib selectively inhibits cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), an enzyme involved in producing prostaglandins. These chemical messengers contribute to pain, swelling and inflammation.
By reducing prostaglandin production, celecoxib may help relieve pain and inflammatory symptoms. However, it does not cure the underlying cause of arthritis or other chronic inflammatory conditions.
Possible Side Effects
Some people may experience side effects while taking Celbox-100, including:
- Indigestion or abdominal discomfort
- Diarrhoea
- Nausea
- Headache
- Dizziness
- Swelling of the legs or feet
Seek urgent medical attention if you experience chest pain, sudden shortness of breath, weakness on one side of the body, black stools, vomiting blood, severe abdominal pain or swelling of the face or throat.
Celecoxib may increase the risk of serious cardiovascular events, gastrointestinal bleeding and kidney problems. Report unusual or persistent symptoms to your healthcare professional.
Important Safety Information
- Use Celbox-100 only under the supervision of a qualified healthcare professional.
- Cardiovascular risk: Celecoxib may increase the risk of heart attack and stroke. Inform your doctor if you have heart disease, high blood pressure, a history of stroke or other cardiovascular risk factors.
- Stomach and intestinal risks: Serious bleeding, ulcers and perforation can occur, sometimes without warning.
- Kidney precautions: Tell your doctor if you have kidney disease, dehydration or conditions that affect kidney function.
- Allergy precautions: Do not use celecoxib if you have had an allergic reaction to it or a serious reaction to sulfonamides. It may also be unsuitable for people with asthma or allergic reactions triggered by aspirin or other NSAIDs.
- Drug interactions: Inform your healthcare professional about anticoagulants, antiplatelet medicines, other NSAIDs, corticosteroids, certain blood pressure medicines and all other products you take.
- Pregnancy: NSAIDs can harm the developing fetus, particularly from around 20 weeks of pregnancy onward. Avoid use at around 30 weeks and later unless specifically directed by a specialist. Discuss pregnancy or plans for pregnancy with your doctor.
- Breastfeeding: Seek medical advice before using celecoxib while breastfeeding.
- Do not combine it with other NSAIDs, such as ibuprofen or diclofenac, unless your prescriber specifically advises you to do so.
Dosage and Administration
Take Celbox-100 exactly as prescribed by your healthcare professional. The appropriate dose and duration depend on the condition being treated, the patient’s response and individual risk factors.
- Follow the prescribed schedule and approved product instructions.
- Do not increase the dose or extend treatment without medical advice.
- Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration appropriate to the treatment goal.
- Do not combine celecoxib with other NSAIDs unless specifically instructed.
- If you miss a dose, follow the patient leaflet or ask your pharmacist for advice. Do not take a double dose to compensate.
Do not use the 100 mg strength as a default dose for every pain condition. The prescriber should determine the appropriate regimen for each patient.
